Q: could a pumpkin serve as a studio model to experiment with portrait lighting?
Is the reflectivity comparable?

My son uses his brother and a couple of friends as practice models. I'd try to use real people.

try going to a wig store they usually sell heads to keep the wigs on. You can use this to check your lighting set up hope this helps you out.
