My little kitty has a habit of getting herself into trouble.

[quote=robertjerl]One of ours thinks the bottom shelf of the upstairs Linen Closet is her apartment (only 2" off the floor) and it has a door that won't stay shut unless pushed in firmly. Most in the family and the cleaning lady don't seem to remember that. So my wife just left two old sheets folded on that shelf for Sara's mattress. I seem to remember that once she kept at it with claws on the door edge until she got it open when it was firmly closed but usually it just takes a claw and slight tug. So whenever I see the door ajar I look first before closing it.[/quote

Oh how funny. Don't you just love cats.

Yep, got to be careful about closets and drawers. One of our Abby’s, Lydia, went missing one day. They are indoor cats, but every so often, Liddy would make a run for the door if it was left open a second too long, and she was FAST. After awhile without seeing her, we decided she had gotten out. I printed flyers and posted them all over the neighborhood, stapled to phone poles, in mailboxes - must have distributed a hundred. That night, with both me and my wife in tears, not knowing what would become of her in the wild, I decided to make one last search through the house, opening every closet door. Just on a whim, I opened a deep dresser drawer, maybe 5’ from our bed, and there she was, napping on the clothes. She had been in there for a good 16 hours, never made a sound, and of course, being the lady she was, didn’t wet in the drawer. As far as she was concerned, it was just a nice place to take a long nap. We try not to leave dresser drawers open any more.

Oh no, I would have been worried sick as well. I'm so glad you found her.

Every time I turn around, my little girl is up to some mischief. I don't know how she managed to get the cupboard door open but I heard a heck of a noise in the kitchen and found her in a cupboard. She is to cute to punish.

Believe it or not, kitties master some things, like operating doors, drawers, vents, etc by observing their pet humans.

We have had 4 cats - never found a place, high or low, that they couldn’t inhabit.

A cat owner can truly appreciate this. My cat somehow jumps about 5 feet straight up onto a shelf full of wool sweaters in my armoir (sp?) if one of the doors is left partly open. Curiosity plus an incredible ability to get into odd places often leads to funny photos like this. Nice captures from a generally uncooperative subject.

Wonderful Cat......I remember the fun I had with my 7 kittens back when. They get to you quickly and stay in your heart.

SLight disagreement, cats have "servants."
