My prints all come out too red on my cannon , but not on my HP all in one. I have put in paper type, the monitor has been calibrated, checked print nozzles.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Are you using OEM ink? I’ve heard the aftermarket stuff can do that.

I, too, have a problem with color on my Canon Pro 100, particularly with black and white images, which come out with a magenta cast. I have tried numerous adjustments to no avail.
I would appreciate any suggestions.

Call Canon and discuss the problem with them. They are excellent.

Not sure which Canon you are using. I posted I bought the 100 to begin test prints and gallery tests.
I was excited the machine is large and impressive. Could not get it to work right. Teched it out I owned
a number large print Epsons etc. Have a HP all in one HP 8710 all-in-one and it makes great prints at
the letter size. Great machine with the ink deal. So after talking to Canon. Making friends with a dealer
who wouldn't admit the machine is tough to setup I gave up and sent the machine back bought at Amazon on sale. Much to cheap. Wondered why Canon was dumping them. You have to use their inks and paper.
the prints weren't just off they were awful. Ran through a lot of ink using maintenance software.
Checked the settings online with Canon. And made adjustments. The machine was awful. Prints weren't
just off color they were spotted and bazaar. I was building up to buying the larger Canon's
roll fed expensive business for an new image business. Reviews put these printers as top dog.
I bought an Epson XP 15000 which I didnt want to do. I had the big Epson and it was great.
My last one the 8330? used so much ink. And so does this XP 15000 but it can make a great print.
Canon tries to get you to use their print software but you are better off using Photoshop.
Good luck.

I have had the Pro 100 for 3 years and have never had an issue with it. I print using LR only and I only use Canon OEM cartridges. Never a problem. I do not like Canon’s print software, so only print using LR.

Have you tried cleaning the print head? Very easy to do, A U Tube tutorial can tell you just how to do it. I just used a plastic tray of water to clean mine.

Some things to check -

1) When printing, do you have the printer driver's set to use printer or software color management ? From Adobe: If using Lightroom Classic and a specific profile, make sure color management is turned off in the printer driver software. Otherwise, your photos will be color-converted twice, and the colors might not print as you expect. See your printer’s documentation for instructions on turning off color management in the driver software. Lightroom Classic does not recognize CMYK printer profiles. To send the image data to the printer driver without first converting the image according to a profile, choose Managed By Printer.

2) Check the printer driver to see if color saving or draft mode is overriding the choice you make in Lightroom (or your print software).

What colorspace are you using ? sRBG vs Adobe RGB will have different appearances. Additionally, the resolution should ideally be greater then the 72ppi default. While it won't affect color much, it can make a difference in the appearance of sharpness. I typically find 400 - 500 ppi give best results on the Pro 100.

Finally, when printing black and white, make sure the print driver is set for monochrome in the printer panel. If you change a color image to B&W, I always have cyan or magenta tinged images printing directly through Lightroom. In those cases, printing from the Canon software will result in a much truer B&W image with no tinting/toning. The Canon print software can be installed as an add-in in Lightroom and you can quickly execute the Canon software from inside Lightroom.

It takes a little fiddling with the print driver and the Lightroom/software setup but once in place, the images on screen exactly match the print for me.

Not sure why you have so many issues with the Canon - honestly have never heard of the spotted or off color issues except when clogged nozzles are in the printhead. You can use any ink set you want by refilling cartridges with 3rd party inks from Precision Color or buying from vendors like LD Products.

I have used paper from Red River, Epson and even Costco with no problems or issues. The Canon papers do not inherently produce 'better' images assuming you use the appropriate ICC profiles for each paper.

Put the Canon into B&W mode when printing B&W - that will get rid of the magenta cast.

Within the print setup you have to select B&W otherwise the printer is looking for color, and not being told it's B&W it's gonna do what it's supposed to do.

Well I will say this. I have seen big Canon's at NAB and they were great.
The unit I received from Amazon camera fast in the display box no outer package.
The top was retaped sloppy someone was into the unit. I was hoping it would work.
Like to be positive. They have a newer version "S" hardly any change. But they sold
the a new 100 for a little over $300. They were selling them with a huge discount to
mail in if you payed the price bringing the price almost to nothing. Are they dumping
their shelves? Thanks for your ideas.

I bought mine new a couple of years ago and love it! I installed the disk, followed the onscreen directions and dam if it didn't print like I wanted it to.I use canon inks and usually canon paper. There are a few art/metal papers that I use and all print well to include metal paper prints beautiful B&W that are almost 3Dimensional.

I bought the Canon 100 just before Christmas and, although I haven't used it a lot yet, love it for both color and black and white prints. I've used a couple different papers (not canon) and it has given me good color on each one.

I have two Pro100's. Use Canon ink, paper and software and you'll get prints that are accurate.
