Last week we went to Black Point on Merritt Island. The birds were plentiful and it was a beautiful morning for photography - overcast and almost no wind. There were a lot of great egrets so I am focusing this first post on them!

Indeed it was. Number 2 is just a superb image. That's the future photo contest entry should there be such a contest in your future.

Thank you! I was pleased to get the complete reflection in that one. He was looking for a snack and his dirty beak shows he was serious about it.

It was! The overcast helped exposure and the lack of wind did wonders for reflections. It is one of my favorite places to be😊

There’s a small hotel I use in Islamorada when fly fishing in the Keys, usually in May. There’s one egrit that will come right up to you on the porch and once crossed the threshold into the room looking for a handout. I’ve never fed it. Others will watch but are not so bold. Nice work.

Fun close-ups and a super catch with the reflection in #2. I've only seen great egrets once in the Yakima area.

Thank you. None of the birds at Black Point are at all tame but they get used to cars and somewhat to people. Some days they all seem leery and other times not so much so.

Thank you, Linda. #2 is a favorite for me, too. I also really like the head on close up for its goofiness.

Very nice set Carol. These birds are really difficult to photograph (all that white!). You've done a great job.
