Printing Question (Epson P600 Printing on Radiant White Epson Paper)

I was recently given two unopened boxes of Epson Radiant White paper. I had no idea what Radiant White paper was; but the price, free, suited my budget. I checked my printing utility--I'm working with PS 2017--and chose "Ultra Premium Presentation Matte" as my paper type. The paper seems very good and it's definitely matte paper. I'm printing on an Epson P600 printer.

The results were not what I'd hoped for. I'm attaching two images, the image as it should look and the image as it printed. I'd welcome any suggestions. And, yes, I know that the paper is labeled "Watercolor," but it also says it works with "oil jet printers."

Thank you.

My only experience with radiant white was to print small signs for someone. It worked fine for that. You probably have to go with what you usually use. The 2nd pic is excellent.

Have you tried printing with your usual paper? That could help you to know if its a profile issue or something else.

Yes, I immediately tried a print with other paper. The result was fine.

Thank you. I like the photo. Can you hear me whining, “But that paper was free! There has to be a way to make it usable! WAAAAAAA....”. (I hate whiners.)

According to Epson you should have set that printer for "water color-radiant white", in settings, under paper type.

Might be worth a try.

Hmmmm.... I don’t think I have that option, but I’ll check. Thank you.

The online owners manual says you should, and also suggests switching to matte black ink with this paper.

Weird! I see it in the menu, but it’s gray, non-selectable.

Good chance you may have to remove the paper from the top feeder and close it, then open the manual feed tray.

Have you looked at your owner's manual? If you don't have one see page 44 ...

Great photo.

I noticed you have an Epson P600. Since B&H Photo has had them on sale, and Epson has a rebate, I have been thinking of buying one. Do you like the printer? If so, what do you like most and least about it?
Does the P600 have an SD card slot?

Any input you give would be much appreciated.

Best wishes with printing on your free paper😉

My P600 is the best purchase I’ve ever made. It doesn’t clog—eve if I get neglectful and go away without shutting off—makes STUNNING prints, and is reasonable in ink consumption. I can think of no negatives and totally recommend it.

Oh, I forgot, the P600 doesn’t have an SDcard slot. It did, however instantly connect wirelessly with my computer.

I have owned an Epson P600 for over 5 years now. It is a really great printer that uses 7 ink colors plus Gloss and Matte Black. It works great with roll paper which I have printed with a couple of times.

It feeds multiple sheets very well, both matte and glossy paper. The full set of 9 inks is not over priced. It does not have a memory card slot. I would think that anyone would print directly from the software on their Macintosh or Windows computer rather than from a memory card inserted into a printer.

I also have a P800 That I just bought from a friend that used it very little. She was donating custom artwork based on children and family pets to charities nationally. She retired and would not have used it any longer.
