Congratulations to you and your husband on some beautiful lake trout. I haven't caught one of them yet in Idaho but hope to this year. Catching one on a fly rod would be very special but I have a number of other rods as well. Beautiful photos too. You both did good.

What a beautiful sunshining day....just couldn't spend it anywhere else other than on Flathead Lake fishing for Lake Trout! And man did we catch them..both my hubby and my arms are sore from reeling these big boys up from 180 feet!

Slow simmered I'n white wine and butter, AMBROSIA.
And here on the east coast, costly.
Isn't retirement wonderful?
Mine is, now if I only could catch some of those.

Wow, what a successful day fishing !! Those are Bull Trout aren’t they? I see the rocky cliffs so were you on the west or east shore? Nice work and thanks for sharing.

Thanks and no those are Lake Trout....I attached a few Bull Trout that we catch on the South Fork river above the Hungry Horse reservoir....these guys are a blast to catch since they are in the river current and they fight like hell! Plus you can get these guys in 3 to 4 feet of water instead of 180!

WOW.............bet you did not tempt these with a "dry fly"

must be a bit of a problem finding a fry pan big enough............must present a challenge to the local ospreys?

no way would a fly rod be enough for these big boys....but man that would be a fight on a light rod for sure! Right now the Eagles are the one's hanging around...the Osprey migrate out of this area till spring.

It would be one hell of a fight on a fly rod, I don't know anyone that fly fishes for them since they are usually so deep.
