Nice photo. Razor wire, did you take that at a jail or prison?

Thank you. Yeah it’s a prison.

Serious indeed! That’s adding insult to injury--both barbed wire and razor wire.
Nice photo.

Thanks!

Nicely done mono exposure and processing. Well done albeit a rather grizzly subject.

Thanks so much, I kinda like stark subject matter, a nice change from shooting the same old stuff.

I agree it’s an appropriate subject for a mono shot. The contrast sets it off to my liking. I’m old enough I remain partial to bw. Perhaps nostalgia a bit at play.

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words. I love BW and especially BW film, that’s what I grew up with.

Just a simple BW shot, I like the tones.

I do too Tom, nice PP.
I notice at least three very fine white lines perhaps only one pixel wide, two diagonal and one horizontal that look like maybe a scanning issue. My Epson 2450 scanner does the same thing except that it is a one pixel tall horizontal dark line thru the middle of the image. I'm thinking of getting a V600 to replace the 2450 so I don't have to deal with trying to remove the line.

I put the lines in Jack. It’s a rendering from a lens flare in Photoshop. I keyed the flare on the bright spot in the upper left, with that flare you get much stronger lines and then you decrease opacity till you have the effect you want. I think it can give a little punch to stark images.

OK. I'm not sure why the tiny white lines show up on my monitor (only on download). And I just spotted a fourth horizonal thin white line toward the bottom. Are they not there on your monitor?

Of course they’re there, hopefully on all monitors...I put them in on purpose. I tried to explain on the first reply. Yes, they are faint and you can’t see them unless you enlarge, they are on the prints too. I want them there.

OK. When you said you were rendering lens flair, I didn't realize you meant lines just 2-3 pixels wide. Nuff said.

There’s one video lens flare in Photoshop that shoots lines of light in geometric patterns through the shot. The others are just normal lens flares, I just like the effect if it’s toned down. It seems to add a little something I think. But like all trick stuff, some folks like it and some don’t. I don’t use it often, but with the pattern of the fence I thought it balanced it without distracting from the subject.
