We drove up to the Gleneagles Hotel for a few days to celebrate our wedding anniversary. On arrival the sun was shining although there was a touch of snow on the mountains. This morning it looked beautiful, snow had fallen during the night - yippie!

The hotel was constructed by the Caledonian Railway Company and opened in 1924. During World War ll it was converted into Gleneagles Hospital. In 1948 ownership passed to the British Transport Commission. Then in 1963 to British Transport Hotels. It has been owned by different companies and since 2015 by the private investment company Ennismore.

The hotel is well known for Golf. The Ryder Cup was played here in 2014. Europe won the competition to retain the Ryder Cup by 16½ points to 11½.

Canon 650D, 18-55 and Tamron 18-400 lenses.

A beautiful place to celebrate your anniversary, Sylvia. The first shot with snow on the ground and the pond in the foreground is a classic.

I like the snowy pond scene and the reflected two trees most.
