Hey, Ken, it's a little "now," and a little "then." It's the [Charles] Dickens on the Strand festival in Galveston. A lot of people dress in period costume (which gets you in free), hence the 19th-century feel. And believe it or not, it was taken last December, on a beautiful warm day. If you're ever down this way in early December, you have to schedule your trip around it.

Good photo but why not bring up the shadows as there is a lot more of interest in this shot than the parasol.

Thanks, Goober. My main interest in this shot was the contrast between the sun lighting up the parasol and the surroundings, which were mostly in the shade. It was contrast rather than content that I was focused on.
