An observation. Thanks.
Not meant to be funny. They wouldn't have noticed.

Oh well it made me smile anyway.
Merry, the question is who, not what! He is a weathered looking gator!
Looks like he might have had too much cornbread and buttermilk! This is one happy but lazy critter, Merry, and you captured all his charm!!
I hope you used a very loooong lens!!

lol...i'd say buckets full of cornbread and buttermilk, donna. oh he was such a charming feller. I was not close to him...I didn't trust that smile at all. thank you for looking at the big fellow and for your entertaining comment!
After a lifetime of eating birds, the gator got his due and the birds their revenge.

Tex, if I made you smile, that makes me smile.
The surroundings look very natural. The cypress bole and knobs are what one would expect in a southern coastal marsh.
Crocs are primarily salt water creatures.
I had caimans, a smaller, invasive species of the family. One was four feet long. I cannot stress how dangerous these things are, even small. Had to euthanize it when it got a friend who was warned.
He held a rat to it and, well, obvious results. Their demeanor belies how fast they realy are.
Lastly, in download I see numerous white feathers. Last meal?
