I thought of a similar project but just sending nuclear waste to the sun.

I have always found it's never a good idea to mess with the thing that is keeping you alive!

I've always thought that the sun would be a great garbage disposal solution, but I suppose the cost of launching hundreds of tons of garbage every day would be pretty high.

Yes, but nuclear waste is minuscule by comparison and would be completely vaporized long before it reached the sun.

But how do make sure the rocket gets there in the day time when the sun is out?

I wonder if the person who made this sketch was serious or if it was meant to be a joke.
1) The plan is too expensive
2) Does nothing to add fuel to the sun

The garbage would never make it as it would vaporize long before.
Seriously, this is a joke.

The trash is simply tomorrow's oil.
Ever see a trash dump that has been shut down for a couple of years? It shrinks quickly.

Now if we could get the countries that dump in the ocean to stop, the plastic problem would be pretty much solved.

Sounds like a good idea on the surface, except like all things in nature there is balance. Remember your high school science class, matter in neither created or destroyed. The Earth weights the same today as it did millions and maybe billions of years ago. If we removed all of the trash (matter) from the planet we would change the mass. That would alter the orbit. It is my understandings that even the slightest alteration of the orbit would make devastating impact on the plant. Caution in all things.

I wrote: "I wonder if the person who made this sketch was serious or if it was meant to be a joke". Maybe the person who made the sketch is actually so stupid that they believe their plan is viable.
