The Steam Scene in 2020

I know there are a lot of working steam trains around the country worth visiting that are not mentioned in this article.
If you know of any steam train happenings, feel free to mention here or a new post.
I'll be participating in Chama, NM at the end of August (will be in Chama for July and Aug.). I don't know yet what they will have me doing....

Looking at the link, there are several images of the throttle valve and body.
These images are a rare look at the throttle valve.
I believe this design is such that if the throttle linkage inside the boiler became disconnected, the throttle valve would shut off the steam going to the cylinders. In other words, the locomotive would no longer have any power. This protects from a runaway locomotive due to linkage failure inside the boiler.

Pat. I think the Durango to Silverton narrow gauge trip is
the best railroading experience in America. I have not
been on all of them, however. Others might question this.

I took my kids there 30 years ago it was very small operation, but todo all that I think it is much larger now!
