https://rowe.audubon.org/birds this is Rowe Sanctuary with the National Audubon Society near Kearney, Nebraska
https://cranetrust.org/visit/crane-viewing-tours/group-viewing-blind-tours.html this is with the Crane Trust near Grand Island, Nebraska
Both places offer excellent blinds and photography and viewing of Sandhill Cranes, the surrounding area with the Migration of Sandhill Cranes, has Eagles and Hawks, Waterfowl, and Wildlife Photo Opportunities...You can also use viewing platforms at many of the bridges just south of Interstate 80 between Grand Island and Kearney, Nebraska and great viewing from the gravel roads running between Kearney and Grand Island, Nebraska as close as you can get to the Platte River on the South Side of the Platte River....
Thank you for this information!!! A trip to this migration is getting closer for me and these sites have extremely helpful suggestions! I spend a lot of time at the Bosque del Apache in New Mexico but I can never get enough of cranes.
My wife's grand father settled on an Island 12 Mi east of Kearney. Named Clark Island after him. An story in the 1897 Gibbon Reporter tells of "Mr. Clark of the Island" shooting a Pelican and it could be seen in the Drug Store Window In Gibbon. Gibbon is 12 miles West of Kearney and two miles north of the Platte River. So you may get to see more than the Sandhill Cranes. - Dave
