I have two photos of friends I took while in Italy late last year. I would like to have the photos printed and delivered to these friend, but I find that the processing and printing of these photos is reasonable, but the sending and delivery to an Italian address is almost twice the price of the prints. So. to make a long story short, does anyone have information on a European source that is able to print and send digital photos similar to what BayPhoto would do in this country.
I have Googled the world and while I do find some sources, they don't provide many options (ie., sizes).
Thanks for any help you can provide in advance.
Mark
So, how much are we talking here, Ruth?
BayPhoto is charging $75 for the two Thin Wrap canvas prints and well over $125 to mail.
The printing of photos on canvas allows you to send them rolled for much cheaper than shipping assembled (shipping framed prints will always be expensive). Best bet is to find a framer in Italy that will assemble the frames and wrap the canvas upon arrival.
We use BayPhoto for our canvas prints and have them wrapped locally even though they are 30 minutes from us. Cheap shipping is easier than driving to Scotts Valley where they are located driving over the Santa Cruz mountains.
Thanks for the tip. I was just hoping I could find a business like Mpix or BayPhoto and have it all done at one place and mailed within the Euro community.
I live in France and have used reasonably priced printing services in Europe. I've just done a quick search and found this one in Italy. Might be worth a shot.

show quote)
Mark : The cheapest way I know of is to roll the print and place it into a cardboard Tube w/end caps and mail it by postoffice and insure it for cost only. Let them frame it when they receive it. ?????
OR, could you email the file to them and let them have prints made in the size and quantity they want over there?

Well, you can... but as you said, the shipping is costly. You have choices and probably having it done all in the European area will be the most cost effective. You'll have to spend some time researching the various print companies there.
Thank you everyone for the tips and opinions. I appreciate the help. I’ll let you know the results just in case, at sometime in the future, you have the same situation.
Contact Aspen Creek Photo and ask them to quote you shipping costs to Italy. Call them if that is easier. Their website says they will ship internationally at their cost. Get their advice on what to do. And what type of print to make.
I have used this lab often to make my prints and have always had excellent results.
