A new poll found that 51% of Americans want the Senate to convict Donald Trump and remove him from office.

CNN reported on their own new poll:

About half of Americans say the Senate should v**e to convict President Donald Trump and remove him from office in the upcoming impeachment trial (51%), according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS, while 45% say the Senate should v**e against conviction and removal.

Nearly seven in 10 (69%) say that upcoming trial should feature testimony from new witnesses who did not testify in the House impeachment inquiry. And as Democrats in the Senate seek to persuade at least four Republican senators to join them on v**es over allowing witnesses in the trial, the Republican rank and file are divided on the question: 48% say they want new witnesses, while 44% say they do not.

Fifty-one percent is not “about half” as CNN suggested. It’s a majority. Elsewhere in the poll, 57% believe it’s true that Trump abused his power, and 58% think it’s true that Trump obstructed the House.

The poll is a ton of bad news for Trump and Senate Republicans. While Trump is trying to get Senate trial canceled, a majority of Americans believe that he is guilty on both articles of impeachment.

More Republicans want new witnesses than do not.

Given the results of this poll, it is easy to see why Mitch McConnell is trying to blackout media coverage and rush through Trump’s trial. Nothing good will come out of this trial for Trump and the Republican Party. Senate Republicans are going to be stained by their v**es not to convict Trump.

The impeachment trial isn’t a victory for Trump. It is a march of the cliff to 2020 defeat.

Remember those polls that said Hillary would win by a landslide???
You still can't get over Hillary's loss can you?

Too bad your small town doesn't have enough money to build quiet rooms.

We hae sorted ourselves into our warring tribes. Virtually all Democrats want him removed and cirtually all Republicans are opposed. That can get you to 51%.

The key demographic to watch are the independents, of whom only 43% want hm remove, according the latest polling I saw. Until this group gets to a majority, there will be no groundswell for impeachment.

Why, having trouble with them? Two digits a bit heavy for you? Which is larger, 51 or 43? Got batteries?

It doesn't matter. What matters is how many in the Senate want him in or out.

That is correct... unfortunately most are eunuchs and we know where their loyalties lie.

Explain that to John, I tire of trying to educate the dishonest.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out polling methodology...

"Hi, I'm conducting a poll on what you think of the jerk in the White House?"

So you approve of deceitful polls as long as they tell you the lies that you want to hear.

Be honest, you have no clue what methodology means.

Your methodology would be...

"Hi, I'm conduction a survey on what you think about Donald Trump as President, and if you give a positive rating I can get you a visit to the WH to enjoy a burger with POTUS. Maybe even a round of golf at Mar-a-Lago."

I already knew you didn’t, no need to embarrass yourself further.
