Those were my thoughts exactly when I saw this on the news. What purpose does the cammo confer? Not like they will be hiding behind trees, in a swamp, in the sand, etc. I would think a non-reflective black would be the most appropriate.

It has been widely derided. But actually it is sensible in that this is a standard uniform used in other branches of the military, so the suppliers and the materials are already in the pipeline. The personnel wearing them will be on the ground and not in space. It also saves a small amount of tax dollars which go toward those expensive toilet seats.
