I have a 60D that will not let me make any selections in the menu. I am fairly certain the problem is in the multi-control dial and/or the set button. I dismantled it with the help of a very cool You Tube video and cleaned both with electrical contact cleaner to no avail.
I have since purchased an 80D which I am very happy with. However, I want to fix the 60D to use as a backup. I am looking to purchase a broken/as-is 60D body that does not have the issues mine does. Damaged lens mount, busted LCD, dented body, no problem. I tried bidding on one on ebay, but what a scam. The opening price was $7.95 (USD). Supposedly non-working with a busted LCD also. The thing "supposedly" sold for a final price of $79.95. Seemed like a scam to me.
Anyone have a damaged 60D they would sell for around $30.00? I don't want to risk much more than that, because I'm not even sure if I can fix mine.
Thanks for listening, sorry this turned out to be long-winded, if you stayed until the end you are very patient.
Adorama and B&H Photo have a used Camera section and some are sold as parts.
Thank you, I did not know that. I will check them out.
mrrpentaxk5ii, thank you for the suggestion, I tried them both, Adorama had two "used" 60Ds for $199 and $259. B&H had nothing. I am looking for a broken camera to use for parts, so I don't want to pay more than $30 because I'm not certain replacing the multi-control dial and/or set button will correct my issue. But I appreciate the quick reply. Thanks again.
Try ebay. There are a lot of parts for the 60D that sellers are selling in there.

Why do you say "supposedly"? You see what the final sell price was. No question about it..
What is it that seemed like a scam? Do you not understand what "bidding" is all about?
I have a 60d body that I dropped. I replaced it with an 80d and would gladly sell you the 69d for parts.
$30 would work for me. E mail me at rcforse@gmail .com if interested.

There you go! The forum almost always comes through!
Sounds good, I'll email you. I should've come to UHH first. I'll remember that in the future.
