I don't do a lot of these. What's the goal? In the download you can read the menu.

It certainly is a street photo. However, one is left with the question of what is the subject? Is it the graffitied hydrant? The person walking on the sidewalk? The person playing the trumpet? The overall scene of the store? I'd suggest finding the subject of interest and establish the frame around that subject.

You're right, outside of the theme of people living their lives in their own worlds, there's no theme. Yeh, I also gravitate towards controlled chaos as in this case.

I agree. I think it is very interesting, but too many subject areas.

I like it. Lots of stuff going. Life in a city.

Not really into street photography though.
(They remind me of tourist snapshots, which I'll take on a visit somewhere.)

Yes it's busy but that's what it is, a little slice of life. If this is in America then it's also a side of America that we don't often see. Maybe not a street photo as such, more like a still documentary.
I like it.

I love focusing on the trumpet player. To me, she’s got a lot of character. I’d crop most of everything else out and have her as my focus. She’s wonderful!

If you'd like, I can make an illustrative suggestion that might provide a different view of the scene.

I'll take your suggestion.

This is simpler. There are three elements in this scene, man dumpster, and graffiti. Too Photoshopped looking?

Any resemblance between this and the original is purely coincidental. To say it is photo shopped is a bit like saying "Dr Livingstone I presume"

I think I am a hopeless pictorialist.

It reminds me of a scene from an old B&W movie, "Cannery Row" - I like it a lot!
