I am seriously considering buying a Nikon D500 body. I currently have a D7000. What 2 or 3 lenses would you recommend and what accessories would you suggest? Is a flash necessary?.
I take mostly wildlife pics but have taken landscape pics at times. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

What lenses do you use now for wildlife and landscape?
A flash is not generally recommended for wildlife.

Would help if you mentioned your current lenses. If you use the flash with the D7000, get an SB5000 for the D500 with the WR-R10/WR-T10/WR-A10 Wireless Remote Adapter Set.

The 300 and/or 500 PF - if cost is no object and you do not already have one. These two lenses and the D500 are the main best reasons to be shooting Nikon .....IMO.

You have many options for a flash. Depending if you need one for indoor photography. New, used, and third party. Prices low to high. The Nikon SB-5000 flash, mentioned earlier, is Nikon's best, and most expensive. $596. Nikon's 200-500mm pairs well with the D500. And the Tamron 150-600mm.

Nikon 200~500. It lives on my D500...when I don't borrow it to use with my D850. Then I put my new Nikon 80~200 f2.8 on the 500.

I bought the Nikon DK-19 eyecup for my D500. It eliminates any chance of glare occurring on the eyepiece glass. It also creates a little more space between the LCD screen and my face. You have to use the existing threaded core from the eyepiece that comes with the camera. It takes a little time and fiddling to get the three pieces together. Be sure to close the eyepiece shutter on the D500 when doing this. It will prevent dust from entering the pentaprism area.

Depends on your budget. Nikon 200-500, Tamron 150-600 g2, Nikon 500 5.6 pf, Nikon 500 or 600 f4.

I also got the Nikon BS-3 deluxe hot shoe cover for my D500. It completely covers the hot shoe area to prevent rain from entering into any cracks. It's a two piece construction. The lower part is hard plastic like the standard hot shoe cover. The upper portion is rubber.

They no longer put LCD covers on cameras like the one on your D7000. I got the Kenko film LCD protector for my D500

Prevents rain from entered the hot shoe

I'd go with the Nikon 200-500 that others have recommended (I bought a Sigma 150-600, which is pretty good, but wish I'd bought the Nikon).

For landscapes, I am very happy with the Sigma 10-20.

Then get a few primes to fill in the gaps as you can afford them:
- 24mm f1.4
- 58mm f1.4
- 85mm f1.4
- 105mm f1.4

I like to be covered from wide angle to tele. You can decide how wide and how far you want to go.

Wildlife generally requires a long lens. A 200-500 Nikkor is good, a 150-600 Tamron G2 or Sigma Sport will be better. I have experience with all three on a full frame camera and that is what I found.

I would avoid "do it all" lenses that can't seem to do anything really well. I don't like to sacrifice image quality for convenience.

Looking at my lens usage in Lightroom, for landscape, my most used focal lengths are 45mm to 150mm - which would be 30 to 100 on a cropped camera. When I need a wider view, I shoot a series of overlapping images that I stitch in Photoshop/Lightroom or PanoTools. One of my favorite lenses in that range is the Nikkor 28-105 F3.5-4.5 AF-D which you can find used for around $125. It has a "macro" mode that goes to 1:2 magnification.

Flash is optional for what your stated use is - a decent flash and a Better Beamer can help if you are shooting in the open, but if you aim it at a subject that has considerable foliage around it - especially in the foreground - you will brightly illuminate the foliage along with the subject and that will be a bear to mitigate in post processing. Also, the flash sync minimum shutter speed I believe is 1/250 second - which could make for interesting results with active subjects. I travel light these days and leave my flash and Beamer home.
