Your tripod is discontinued. Which is why they told you they can't fix it. Unless you can find a broken one with the part needed.. You are out of luck.

Yep discontinued. Unless you want to spend a ton on another, I'd jump on this one and keep yours for parts. Make an offer. Roberts Camera is a good place to buy from.
