Hoping one of you Hoggers out there have experience with this camera. I’m seriously thinking of getting this for my daughter, who is getting interested in photography.
My specific question with this camera pertains to its “auto-focusing” capabilities ... not it’s manually focus capabilities. In reading reviews on this camera, several of them complain about it’s auto focusing capabilities, one review going as far as to say that only 1 in 10 shots is in focus. Other reviewers say that auto-focus is fine?
So, I’m looking for some “real world” feedback from this community, if possible. Thanks.

I've not had that problem.
OP's question seems to be a repeat.
NO! I've never had any focus problems with my ZS100.

Hi Paul. Well, I never got an answer to my first request. Yes, you did respond initially, which I appreciated and thanked you for. But your response specifically talked to the fact that you focused manually. Which is fine.
I’m just trying to figure out if there are auto-focus problems with this camera. Thanks.
To be more specific, I always use auto-focus and NEVER had a problem on my ZS100.

Thanks for your response, Paul. I guess when you said you "never use Auto" you were referring to shutter speed, aperture, etc., and I mistakenly thought that you were referring to focusing.
Great to hear that the auto focusing is fine. I will now get that camera for my daughter. Thanks.
I have used my ZS100 extensively and never had a problem with auto focus. It's a great camera for someone getting interested in photography, as it's more of a bridge camera between a point and shoot camera and a DSLR.
No auto focus problems for me.

Very good to hear. A camera where she can grow if she’s interested in learning more and branch out from there. Thanks.

I did mean I never use "Auto" as in mode: shutter speed, etc... but I almost always use auto focus.
Never had any problems with any focus in this camera.
