A couple of days ago, I started shooting with my Sigma Art 50mm lens, under the basket and similar to your vantage point. I find that I can get more shots with the ball being released from the players' hands. Then when I need to crop from the 85mm/135mm point of view, this lens is sharp enough that I don't lose any detail at all from the crop.

Good set, but a little under exposed.

Yes, the Sigma 135mm is the f/1.8, Art series. And it is incredibly sharp. As mentioned, I used it a lot for the special reach applications. I am certain that the ones Sigma makes for Canon will be every bit as sharp as they are for Nikon. Just make certain that you specify the Art series when you get one.

The 50mm Sigma Art lens is an f/1.4 lens, ⅓ stops better than the f/1.8 lens (the 135mm Sigma Art is an f/1.8) and the 24-35mm Sigma Art lens is f/2. So I have a range of f/stops from these 3 Sigma lenses.

I'm sending you a set of images with the 85mm f/1.8 Nikon Z6 series S lens. They are sharp, but the set of images from the 135mm Sigma Art are sharper (I'm sending these separately)

These are the 135mm Sigma Art lens, f/1.8. Sharper than the Nikon 85mm. Also from the Nikon Z6 camera body.
