I have always been told not to loose the arms of your subjects , so maybe the husbands left arm on the wifes shoulder and the boys right arm on his knee , and the husbands head turned a little more so there is not so much shadow ,but that is just a uneducated opinion . Still a very nice picture .

Bra straps are distracting. Try to create some separation between the background and the family members. The lighting seems uneven with it brighter on the left.

I agree with Goldwinger about the arms/hands. Mom's hand disappearing under baby, and Jr.'s left hand dropping in between his legs...not good. Also Jr.'s left foot needs to be painted darker, or wrapped in dark duct tape, white is not good.
Mom and Dad are suffering from dark shadows on their faces; need some kind of fill light (another light, or a reflector).
On the plus side: at least you have something to start with, and it's not 100% bad. So you have this experience to work from, and next time maybe only one or two little glitches. Yay! Progress!

Ok here is my opinion . First lets do something with the wrinkles in the backdrop . If they are staying then move it back a few feet . The clothes don't do anything for me . I mean first off the kid with the white shirt and a dark backdrop , sticks out . Next is Mom , the tank top thing don't work in this case to me , especially with the tattoo sticking out like that . Everyone needs to be on the same page . The pose, well The kid needs to do something with that white sock sticking out . To distracting IMO. The lighting is directional and needs a fill on picture left side .
Now for what I would try
If you only have to one light , then make everyone face the light and turn their heads toward the camera . and move the light as necessary . Next the clothes , everyone wear dark or bright clothes . Get some separation between them and the backdrop. The pose can work i think ( I read something about triangles and you have that ) I would try and get baby's head straight . If one hand is visible then all should be . ( I don't know if the hand thing will work ) After all this is going on a wall and your name will be attached . I see that Dads and Kids leg out for symmetry , I assume . Might work if the lighting was different and the sock wasn't white , I think I would try to get them both tucked in .
Now all this said , I don't make any claims to be a Pro . These are just suggestions based on what i have read. Also IMHO just what I would try .
Nice Family though . I am sure you will get something that just pops when you see it .

You are off to a good start. Just a little tweaking is needed. I agree with "no sleeveless", she needs a different top. Jr's white sock is bit distracting, bare feet would be better. A little color coordinating goes a long ways also.

Move them all away from the background if you can. It looks like one light coming from camera left. With one light, flat light them from the front and get rid of the dark shadowing on the right side of their faces,,,or try bouncing some light with a reflector to open up those shadows and even out the lighting a bit. With groups, IMHO, you are better off flat lighting than shadowing.

Posing groups,,,,start with mom is a good rule. She is the one that has to look great first, then build around her. She looks bigger than she has to, because she is front and center. Dad is covered partially by her and junior. You do have her turned at an angle, which is great, a nice way to help thin her out. Dad and mom's facial views are at 3/4, which makes them look like they are looking back too much at the camera. Moving their pose a bit would help change that to 2/3's, a much more flattering facial view.

Triangles and diamond shapes work best, especially for families. This gets them nice and close to eachother.

You have a wonderful foundation to build upon, as I said this is a great start.

I'm distracted by the bra showing and the ugly tatto (I know that's just personal opinion) but as a grouping I'd turn the mother toward the group. That would pull her in to the photo more and especially pull the baby in more. He's just hanging out on the edge.

Several helpful comments already, so forgive for repeating...

Distracting bra strap and white socks
Create a more intimate family feel by turning people in: Both the son and mother are facing away.
More distance between back drop and family
Even lighting... seems darker on one side
Clothing that "pops" from the backdrop

Good luck!

Clothing:
always a great combination are whte T-shirts or white shirts, & Jeans or beige dockers. barefoot for everyone works well also. do not mix plaids & florals! Find colors that compliment each other like browns & beiges can work also. all these clothes are easy to find and with some bit of pre-planning with your family, you will create a better look.

I like the triangle created with mom, dad & Jr, but unfortunately baby seems to get lost and not feeling a close a part of this family. They don't "look" comfortable or relaxed. This is a key to having a great photo...

Also if you can get a grey muslin, the green can have some adverse effect with skin tones. You want something pretty neutral in the background so that your eye goes to the family. You are off to a good start and Have fun, because if you have fun, they will too and your photo will reflect it!!!! Good luck!
