Howdy. from NC
Hello all,
I'm Ross. Ive been playing with cameras for about 45 years. Of course I started out with film. Since my first camera was 100% manual, I understood things like F-stops, aperture and depth of field. I admit that since I have been using digital cameras, Ive gotten lazy. I had to look up the relationship between F-stops and depth of field. Time to get back to the BASICS. When someone asks me how to take better pictures, I tell them to set their camera to manual. The worst thing that can happen is you take a bad picture, you have to delete it, and learn something. Good luck, and happy snapping!
Hi......was this taken on manual?

Howdy back from North Carolina. I've been playing with cameras since you had to remove the lens cap, and replace it to take a picture.
No - just kidding; but it has been about 61 years now, my first camera was a Kodak Brownie Six-16, 116 roll film camera. You opened it, and pulled the bellows out to take a picture it had 3 stops, and four shutter speeds + bulb. But I took a lot of pictures with it, following the variations of the Sunny 16 rule. :)
No, set on sunset. i had to crank the ISO down to 80. i had to play with it, but it was still on auto for the most part.
My dad had a Richoflex (sp?). It was the last model before they added a built in light meter. My dad bought me a Brownie, I think it was the #4. You had to wind the shutter before taking a picture.
The first SLR camera I bought was a Canon AE-1. I had it when I was in the navy. Talk about abusing a camera! That camera spent a lot of time on the Flying dragon. (Look at the picture below). You might have to stare at it for a few seconds before you see the dragon.
Looking forward to talking to you again.
