It's actually a very fine lens, pro grade Sigma. Literally the crop sensor version of their 50mm F1.4 full frame lens.

...I have that lens that works fine on my D7100 and D7000. NOT on my D5200 even though it has a motor in the lens. I had to use the Lens Fine Tune to get this lens to focus correctly on the two D7xxx cameras.
~ As far as performance, it is quite sharp with decent contrast/colors. You will not find it sharp corner to corner like the newer ART Sigma lenses, but I found this a nice lens to use for family get-togethers inside or out. The Wide Open F/1.4 sharpness is decent and gets much sharper by F/2.0.
...This lens is kinda' fussy to use compared to the Nikkor DX 35mm F/1.8 that you can put on and just shoot away and every shot will look awesome. No fussing around, just Slap it on and GO!
...The Sigma is slower to respond and may not settle on where you want to focus at first (again, fussy!), but I really like the way the lens has character and a more artistic rendering to the images it produces (awesome at weddings!).
~Just MHO, but this lens is NOT for the photographer that want straight forward, no messing around shooting. The 30mm EX DC HSM is a beast in size and must be learned of its quirks to using.

... I'm not sure to whom you are addressing this question to since you did not use the "Quote Reply" tab.
I'm also not sure of you photographic experience. - Useing a lens like the Sigma 30mm ex dc that to me needs someone with quite a bit of time using lenses that that are qwerky. They need pretty much a lot of conscious effort to use to get the most from it.
.. Like I said, the 35mm dx Nikkor is an awesome lens that is always sharp and requires no real learning curve. Put it on the camera and shoot away! Not a real artistic lens, but great for general shooting with a nice Prime lens.
