Badger suggested more saturation on image #2. I was glad to dig it out again and see if I could improve the saturation. What do you think?

If we are talking lightroom, saturation is a blunt instrument, raising all values equally. Vibrance impacts less saturated colors more strongly than those already saturated.

As already stated try vibrance rather than saturation. The Saturation slider can oversaturate colors that don't need it.
