Depends on your budget. Go for the best you can afford.

I've had good luck with refurb and used. My first digital camera was an Olympus 1 Megapixel ("Wow! a whole MegaPixel!" my friends said at the time. So much better and cooler than the Sony's that used floppy disks.) It was $150 less than the new one because it came out of the refurb line. It still works today.

Sometimes I wish I still had my first digital camera, a Nikon Coolpix 900 (1.5mp). I often wonder if I would be satisfied with any of its images; of course, they'd have twice the resolution of this old iPad I'm using (0.7mp).

It's my first digital i'm impressed, with 4x zoom but can get grainy that close,14.1 mega pixel, many options to play with and learn.Power Shot A2200.to bad it's defective at my loss.I'll think hard about another Canon, may move on to Nikon,or other.that CCD(flash) should last a long time.I'm disappointed ,lucky i didn't spend more.I'm on to bigger and better.have a great day.
