What are your thoughts on Photoscape X Pro, is it as good as Photshop Elements and Lightroom.
Just wondering
I'm not familiar with that software, but the first step should always be to determine what your interests are and what tools you need to accomplish your goals. And how much time are you willing to devote to learning software. A lot of folks are still perfectly content with Picasa.
There are many, many opinions about which software is good, better, best.
Thanks for your input Basic editing and touching up where needed

What are you using now? Is there any free software available from the maker of your camera?
Have you tried the free version of Photoscape? That might be a place to start, though there are lots of free editors out there.
Looking at their web site... They have been around since 2013, so they are relatively new.
There are a lot of companies competing in the photo editing and & retouching market. Photoscape X has a free version but no doubt it is for demo. I don't see anything about software costs on the website.
I agree with what Linda said, and after you consider those comments, I would suggest if PhotoScape looks like a fit for you, then download the free version and try it see if you like it. Then report back here your findings.

I finally found $50 mentioned for the Pro (can't recall if on their site or another Google search), but I don't know if there is a free trial.

That is a reasonable price.
The PhotoScape web site shows a free version.

What happens when you click the "Pro" button that's showing on your screenprint? Do you see a price or do they want your credit card info first?

I tried that and it provides a price of 39.99. I am using a Mac and the Safari browser.
Yes, I am using PhotoScape X Pro, there is a paid ver. also I may give it a try cause usually the paid ver. gives you more.
Thanks for your time

It depends. Sometimes the free version is full featured but limited time.
If it is limited features generally the paid features are "greyed out" in the menus. Do you see that?
It would be good to know what you are getting before paying.

What are you hoping to do with image editing software? That is the important question. There is no right or wrong answer, and your answer to that question may change over time. It may well be "as good as" Photoshop Elements and Lightroom, depending upon your needs and goals.
It looks to be more stable, more affordable, and at least as functional as Luminar 4 which has created a buzz recently as a quick and easy alternative to LR. If you can do nondestructive editing of raw files with the free version, which I think you can do, then you have absolutely nothing to lose by experimenting with it.
