Hi, everyone. My first time to post the image, so I hope it's something you find worthwhile working with. It's a shot of my home town, Austin, TX, taken at a distance. Looking forward to seeing what this inventive and talented group can make of it.

It's all about the clouds and the magic city of gold in the distance.

Nothing fancy: basic editing, dodge and burn, remove distractions, clean up noise, dust etc.
As you might expect, a b/w version.
Nice image - not very much editing.
Well, I also didn't do much. But I did learn something. On my screen, the original image looked quite dark. But when I opened the downloaded image in ACR, it looked fine. There was a notice that it was in "2012" and to do any developing I would need to change it to "2010." Not sure what that meant, but I did. And the image went back to dark again! So I lightened it quite a bit, put a bit more contrast in the sky, and that's about it.

When I opened it up in photoshop it automatically go to the Camera Raw filter with all its sliders and with this picture all the sliders were moved. I think these were jburlinson's setting when he worked on it. I could immediately start to make any additional changes to the image without going backwards.
On my version of photoshop if I open up a file and make slider changes then hit cancel without opening to the next screen all your slider settings will remain in place. The next time the file is opened you will get your last slider moves even though you didn't intensionally save them.

Interesting. Not sure why there was the notice about "2012" and "2010" now why some of the sliders simply weren't there. Not that they were greyed out: They simply weren't there! But interesting. Thanks, Jim.

I've been working with film a lot lately. This is my attempt to make a digital photo look like it could have been shot with Tri-X from the old days. I added some grain after converting to black and white because Tri-X is a 400 asa film and quite grainy. Hope it does not look like noise! Great photo to work with. Lots of fun.

A very interesting image to edit. I wasn't sure how to go with this, but I wanted to try something a little different for me. I used texture. I am not sure how well it worked though. Members have posted some interesting edits.
How to enjoy city life from a safe distance.

I'm very impressed by the excellent submissions this week. Thanks to all for your great work. Always room for more, of course!
I couldn't make up my mind color or B/W. So I did bit of both. Fun image to work on.
