Looks like the last thread on this is about 5 years old. What is the type of wireless strobe trigger you're using? Looking for something more reasonable cost wise than Pocket Wizards. I don't need something so robust. I have an old set of Pixel King triggers but they don't work with the newest Canons and am looking to upgrade. Upgrade to Pixel King Pros, other low cost reliable brand? Thoughts or recommendations?

I think I want to buy a couple Godox 860 flashes and Godox trigger to go with them.

Loving my Godox. (Under the Flashpoint brand from Adorama)
Works in ttl or manual with your Canon speedlights, or from their extensive line of lights.
I have 4 different Godox/Flashpoint strobes. Proving to be very reliable.

I have a pair of Neweer 750's with a trigger and two receivers. Works fine, lasts a long time with my Nikons. And several hundred $$$ less than the Nikon brand name. IMHO Nikon's prices on accessories are obscene.

Godox V860II with an X2 Godox Trigger. Best most cost effective speedlight out there in my humble opinion. You can purchase 2 godox flashes, and a trigger for less than a canon speedlight would cost.

I have used Phottix Odin TTL triggers for over 5 years. I also couldn't justify the cost of the Pocket Wizards. These work beautifully with my speed lights, and my studio strobes, and were very affordable. I highly recommend them.

There seems to be some reliability problems being reported on BH. Regardless they're too pricey for someone who only uses them occasionally.

I've been using Godox triggers and receivers for the past year without any issues.

Belongs what lights you have. In some lights there are build in remote like my alien bee. The bee I can trigger from every flash......I changed to flashpoint because between pocket wizards, pixel, cables, batteries it was to crazy.......

Thanks for the review. I need to buck up and give flash a try. I long ago gave up a Vivitar I used with film and done nothing with flash since.

Just trying to use Nissan strobes off camera. Interesting about the Flashpoint, I notice from Jim's post above that they are really Godox products sold under a different brand.

Thus far that seems to be the bell ringer and they are not so pricey. The Pixels appear a little less, but they aren't offered by BH or any real retailer and I already have compatibility problems with them...

One of the best starts I can offer is https://strobist.blogspot.com/ Start at the very beginning and work through your own exercises in lighting.

+1 for Godox. Used their flashes for a year or so the got a couple of strobes. Love being able to change setting from the camera and they have proved really really solid for what I do. Maybe different for an event pro though.
