Dr Bose gave up working as a senior Doctor in an ultra-modern hospital in Hydrabad to work in the Sarenga Mission Hospital in the forests of West Bengal.
The hospital provides him with some simple accommodation which is basic even by Indian rural standards.
One day a week the hospital takes a mobile clinic to one of the villages to provide basic healthcare and general health advice, these clinics are usually set up in a schoolroom for the day.
Dr Bose would be able to get a well paid senior post in any western hospital but he chooses to help the poor in his own country for a pitiful remuneration.
Dr Bose is a truly good man.
