Monitor questions.
I am looking at replacing my computer monitor and am wondering what would be best for processing pics. Is a curved monitor good or bad? Recommendations appreciated.
BenQ SW2700PT
Just say no to the curved.
Curved is a sales gimmick.
(I have a 23" Acer and a 24" HP, both flat. They work great. Don't need no stinkin' $300+ monitor.)
Besides, won't you print on flat paper???
I could look for curved paper!

Well, If the curved monitors stay, I'm sure someone will start selling curved frames.......

A curved one is not any better or worse, its the same quality, only its curved. Its a thing of preference!

Back to the subject please. Recommendations or advice please.

How well did that go?
Actually curved frame make more sense to me than curved monitor. There are images that can benefit from a curved frame. Panorama is one example. Also you can choose frame that is curved outward or inward and in different sizes. So in this case I don't think it's a hype but however you must match the right image to the right frame as well as the right location to display it.
Monitors however are supposed to be used with any images and the curve only benefit few of the images.

Sir, yes sir!
Recommendation: just get a 23-24 inch monitor at Best Buy.

Avoid gaming monitors (too bright and contrasty for photography)
Try to get 10-bit color
Try to get 100% coverage of sRGB, 99% coverage of Adobe RGB, and 100% coverage of P3 ICC color spaces
QUALITY starts at $350 and up
Get a calibration kit from X-Rite or DataColor if one isn’t included with your monitor (software and colorimeter or spectrophotometer)
BenQ, NEC, Sony, Eizo...
