Red-shouldered Hawks are no threat to your song birds. They are way too slow to catch birds. They prey on small mammals (mice and voles), amphibians, and reptiles. My local pair are very fond of frogs.

The squirrels better stay hid also. There’s one big hawk that patrols the area around here and keeps the rodents and squirrels pretty much at bay.
