I was surprised when I saw this article. Just think --photos we have on the internet can
be data mined to create information for marketing or whatever it can be used for.
Facebook, photo websites, stored photos etc. I have 70 videos on Vimeo.
I have become very annoyed that information on us is being distributed for money.
Recently medical information. A family photo now can be detected for information.
Where you are. Ages of people. Where you go or vacation. We all know that
if you go online look at camera or anything you get emails and pop ups etc.

Is this about photography? Or, instead, a rant on the use of public information and marketing? More and more this section seems to be a general discussion section with a bit of photography in the discussion.

Well not sure why I am being attacked for giving some very important information.
Exif is the way us shooters have valuable information available from our work.
If you post some of your friends on facebook or a photo website they can be
date mined for much information. Like where you daughter lives? Places you
go and a lot more. Being a photographer would you find this shocking.
A good friend found out someone saw his grandaughter on porn site international
south america. How about you apply for a mortgage and the financial company
checks you out including your Exif information on social networking visuals?
