Hi! New member, just upgraded from Canon 520A to Nikon D3000. Taking a class in manual photography to learn control of my camera. Signed up for a class in Photoshop. Love Landscape Photography and all things Nature. Excited to be here - amazing group, talented photographers.

Yes, I wish it were a little brighter too. Any suggestions for exposure that will give me more detail in the foreground without losing detail in the sky?

Point the camera towards the lower part of the shot,set your exposure by pressing thr shutter release half way,bring the camera up,compose yoir shot,press the shutter release the rest of the way.....it should give you a lighter foreground.

Thanks! I did take some shots where the foreground was brighter but then the sky was not as dramatic. I will keep working at it - I know have a lot to learn.
