Thought this was nice subject to photograph using different shutter speeds, this was my best effort.

Moving water

Is this better that first pic?

Like 2nd one best, looks more real, the first one and others I have seen look like the water has been painted on.

Number 2 defiantly is a photo of water - clear mountain water -
#1 depicts the aftermath of a wrecked milk tanker.
IMHO
I live in the mountains with these wonder full clear streams & when I see someone turn them into flowing milk I can't help but remember the polluted streams that abounded before EPA cleanups.

All are good, but I like the first one the best. It "speaks to me"..........and says, "why can't you take photos like that?"

I think slow shutters make for beautiful artistic renderings and yours is great! I'm partial to the the more realistic renderings. All three are really good, though!

I never know there was such a thread. I won my first point in my local photography club's bi-weekly contest for a second-place finish in a "miscellaneous projected digital" event. I'll publish it on the site. It's a B/W but I have 2 colored versions (the original and another one at a different shutter speed)
