I tried this w/o using dark frames. 287x60seconds on 11" RASA and ASI1600. Ha only.

Really fascinating, Brian!
I stare into these images and I have to wonder who's world ended in these events?
Preponderances of questions that will never be answered. The answers are not in our cards.
And for the most part, they are hidden from our naked sight.
Black Holes taking in Stars and Galaxies. What we call The Orion Nebula giving birth to new Stars (or so we are lead to believe).
And we are stuck like mold to an orange, wondering at all we can see.

Space is Sooo amazing, things are so big, including the space between things. Saw an article about Betelgeuse this morning.

That RASA is working well. Lots of Ha in that object.

Thanks Tony,

I’m trying to figure out what’s going on with my calibration...I’m getting a lot of black dots, like noise after calibration. I haven’t changed my process, the only change has been an update of PixInsight. The only other change has been cooler nights. I’m going to try again with no dark or bias.

Very nice way of representing the size differences!

And then there are the sizes going down on the Earth.
Grains of sands on all the beaches are less than all the stars in the Universe?
What if an Atom is a micro solar system?

What if I'm just a gaseous emission from a large fart?

processed these with no bias or darks, only calibrated flats.

Remarkable sharp!

You've got one heck of a good eye, Brian.

That's awesome Brian , I'm sure glad your getting out for some image time . I've still trying to patch my mount together with JB WELD and Loctite putty. #1 is too cool .

Hmmm, jb weld and putty, doesn’t sound good.

Looks like we will have a couple of clear nights over the next few days. Might interfere with all the bowl games.

Go Buckeyes! (And if Ed is out there, Go Buckeyes, beat Clemson)

Good job on that image. Did you find a problem with your bias and dark frames?
Look out for the dew point over the next few days!

Thanks Tony.

I don’t know what is going on with my darks/bias. I haven’t changed anything in my processing or acquisition. The only change was an update of PIxInsight. I haven’t heard any complaints from others, so I’m assuming it’s not the software.

I assume you are using pixinsight for calibration? I am still using CCDSTACK but considering pixinsight in the future. Another learning curve to deal with!!
Have you considered producing new bias and dark master frames?
