A black and yellow spider, scientifically known as Argiope Aurantia
commonly found around gardens.
Great shot and love the yellow color .I have seen many like it but your photos cant be beat !

Thanks Hando for your nice comments. They are sometimes called the "writing" spider as they will weave a dense zigzag of silk known as "stabilimentum" located directly above and below their body as you can see in my photo.

Thanks for looking twitcher32. I appreciate it. Too bad! Before the first frost, this female "scribbler" spider will die. Although she already built her brown silk- covered egg nest full of spider eggs that will hatch next spring.

Thanks for clearing things up for me. From some previous UHH posts I was under the impression that it was a Golden Orb. Mine had red legs but the rest of her looks about the same. She recently left her web after a couple weeks. Didn't know they only lasted 'til the first frost.
