A couple in Newman GA found this screech owl inside their Christmas tree when they started to decorate the tree. They tried to encourage it to leave, but it kept coming back to the tree. They finally called animal control who removed the owl and took it rehabber to be checked for any health issues before being released back to the wild.

Yes, tried to get out, but the owl kept going back to the tree even when decorated.

Were it me I would have considered the owl to be a part of the tree's decorations. Did it pose a danger, I wonder?

Inside - The owners closed interior doors and opened the front door, but the owl kept coming back to the tree. Finally called animal control.

I saw this story on the news. Their little girl told mommy she was scarred of one of the ornaments. That's when they found the owl. News said it took 2 days for animal control to show up.

In December 2013 we found an eastern screech own seeking shelter in a black plastic drain pipe for waste water.
