As you could tell by the topic I have obsolete equipment that I use and need advice on. My house burned down last July and I lost half my collection. I'm hoping there are others here that can help with some weird questions I have about some really old stuff that still works. Your news letter is so interesting and I enjoy trying some of the tricks with different cameras. I may have some stuff for sale and would like to deal with people that understand what they are looking at. Too much information? Thanks for including me.

Sorry not a lot of sense in this post. I have a Leica 8.5 CM f 1.5 lens that is from 1936 that I still use. Old is not in any way indicative of less than useable. I use to use a Heliar that the French Photographer Brassai (technically he was Hungarian) used to make the images titled the Night Life of Paris.

Welcome to UHH.
As for me, I have sold and no longer use any film camera's. I really like being able to edit digital images away from a dangerous chemical filled darkroom of my film days.

Welcome aboard the Ugly Hedge Hog. As for too much information I have to say there is not enough information for me. I and many others are interested in collecting and using old cameras. I am probably not alone in wondering what you have, what questions you might have and so on. Pictures would definitely help us know what you are talking about in the way of the equipment you have.

Welcome to your forum. I have found this an excellent "table" where photographers can learn, share and grow.

I'm deeply sorry upon the loss of your home. I hope that you can recover from this unfortunate tragedy. I would like to slowish you and your family health and happiness during this holiday season.

I am intrigued about your questions. I'm not entirely sure where you wish this thread to go. But, if I understand you correctly, do you wish to sell some of your remaining equipment? If that is the case, perhaps you might find an interesting option by donating your equipment to a high school photography club. Can you imagine the widened eyes, and the batch of questions to be answered by those teenaged inspired new generation of photographers. You might find yourself teaching these young minds perhaps volunteering your time! If money is a concern, you may try posting photographs and descriptions of the equipment here on line at UHH. If my arrow fell short of the mark and I musunderstood your question, please accept my apology.

Happy Shooting!

Welcome. Ask specific questions with full information and many folks will do their best to help. Not many of us are still into old stuff or even film but there are some. Enjoy.
