I really love that soft, lavender grass in the foreground. I wouldn't know how to change the weather look to this image, but I'll watch what others do.

Thank you so much for your comments, Kathy. That might be cheat grass, a very nasty invasive that is changing western landscapes:

Linda, I first saw this grass up in Utah and thought it was lovely. It was quite short, so walking through it wasn't a problem. As tall as the grass in your picture is, I can see that it would be problematic. Like so many things that are actually bad, it looks pretty!

Thank you, James! I can't see it from Yakima, must drive a couple of hours south. In the lower valley (here) there are some pretty nice photo ops with Mount Adams, though. Soooo spoiled

True, like that water iris and the pink flowered-weed. Blenheim Orange can name them, I'm sure!

btw, cheat grass can work their way into dogs' feet through if caught between their pads.

I'll remember that. We have a similar grass here (but it's not lovely lavender) that will work its way into anything.

A very fine shot. I went skiing on Mount Hood back in 1963.

Wow, I didn't know that was a thing there! Many thanks for your compliment, David.
