I love moody fog and mist, frosted fields, backlighting and Golden Hour. Unfortunately, when I discovered this view of Mount Hood, it was mid-morning, sunny day in May
Use your creativity and skill to change the time of day and/or weather. Re-post to this thread and give an overview of how you achieved. Many thanks for your participation!
.
I spent some of my photography budget on two courses from Matt Kloskowski on how to "light" images in post processing. He called it "No Light? ... No Problem!". (My weak excuse is that they were temporarily on deep discount sales!)
I could have saved money following your instruction!

By "your" I hope you mean what others will bring to the thread, since I personally know nothing
Which reminds me, in the below link are two tutorials on how to change day to night, created by UHH users:

Here's my attempt. First Topaz DeNoise AI to 1.0 which solved the noise problem. I thought hard about removing all the man made objects but in the end only cropped out the windmills. Used Landscape Studio to replace the sky and darkened the whole thing back in ACR.

Wow, very effective, Jack! Looks like I arrived just before the mountain disappeared into the clouds and drizzle - which they do with irritating frequency
One thought is you could soften the edges of the mountain so that the cloud cover appears more imminent, but that may not be what you were after. Thanks so much!
Hi Linda,
I have two different edits that I tried with your image.
The first one I made a few basic adjustments in Lightroom, then did a "export a copy with LR presets" to Luminar 2018. In L2018, I used their fog filter in the foreground, and added the sunrays filter also. I used the Sky AI to enhance the blue sky a bit.
The second attempt, I just used Lightroom. I used a preset that changed the image from day to night, and then adjusted the radial filters that were in the preset, and also removed some of the radial filters that were included.

Vince, your night time is soooo inviting! Snug little villages in the distance, and maybe there's a full moon shining through clouds onto the side of the mountain. Colors are beautiful, mood is ultra-charming.
I like the idea of #1. For me the yellow fog dominated the scene a bit too much, so I tried a crop (see below). Many thanks for your time and interest!
Linda,
I like the crop you did. I think it looks better cropped.
Glad you liked my edits.

A sudden change in the weather? Unreal🙁

Take cover; she's about to blow!
I love doing this, changing the light from night to day. I used Color Lookup in PS to change it to night then I added some dark clouds with a cloud brush around the top of the mountain. I used a fog brush in the sky to soften it then finally I used a splatter brush in different sizes to add the snow. It is not realistic but I think its pretty.
I added second one but instead of using a splatter brush I used a program called Snow Daze to add the snow. Very different image.

#1 imparts a gentle mood, reminding me of silent evening snowfalls in Maine. Would you believe it's snowing hard (for real) in Yakima as we speak, but somehow it's not so peaceful in daylight
#2 feels like the beginning of a Christmas card. Maybe a small wreath hanging on the fence post, decorated with red holly berries?
Glad you enjoyed the challenge; thank you, Keni!
