I just bought the Miops splash kit. I have a Nikon D500 camera. Do I need to buy a cable to go between the camera and the MIOPS?

If it's a kit, it should come supplied with one!

I only received 2 cables with the kit. One for the flash and other for the power cable.

he Splash Water Drop Kit from MIOPS is a clever product built around the SPLASH regulator that allows you to capture what is normally a difficult "frozen" water drop shot. The kit includes the MIOPS SPLASH, a SPLASH holder to attach to a tripod, light stand or similar support, a PC flash sync cable and a USB power cable. The system allows the user to set the size of the drops as well as the interval between drops

I have no experience but, I think the unit triggers the camera.

I know it's off topic but I use and iv bag and regulator tube. Wife had surgery on Tuesday and the nurse was kind enough to give me one. It works awesome.

Yes, you need to purchase your own cable to connect the Splash unit to your camera. Alternatively, you can manually control the shutter in a darkened room using bulb mode or a 2-3 second exposure to capture images.

Perhaps in a darkened environment, with the shutter open ("bulb" setting), MIOPS just triggers the flash which provides all the light, after which you may manually close the shutter?

Yes I found out from B&H that I had to purchase a cable that did not come with the unit. I wish MIOPS would
let you know things like that.
