So this time I moved the flash a little to the right. Trying to make my own golden hour light when there is no sun.
It was cold, switching between misty rain and snow with temp 32-35F. Opened a my window and taped a couple of semi-clear trash bags up with a hole in the middle. I have a very very tolerant wife.

OH, I put a white kitchen trash bag over the flashes. I use 2 Godox 360's. They have good power and though I might cry if I tore one up I wouldn't have to jump off a bridge.

Very nice! It would probably be even more impressive if you were to post one without the Golden Hour flash (as a comparison).

Here is one the backlight flash and the front flash (fill flash) didn't fire or question if they had not totaly recharged.
This particular bird is my buddy. He has a injury on his head and because of it a couple of feathers stick up. I can go out to the feeders and the others fly away but he only goes a little to keep a few feet between us.

I'm not a big fan of bird photography but your last one is excellent.
I love the lighting and exposure.

Hi, Thanks. I love my little birds.Well, love big birds too. But been thinking about the lighting for a while. If you take picture you know it is all about the light. Kind of using portrait thinking here. Trying to light up some of the background to give it more umpf. I usually use my flash/strobes and shoot in the evenings when there is back light. Thought, overcast, grey day, even light ... light bulb went off.

It is a set up by a window. A couple of years ago had surgery so was layed up for a while. Kids drug some big branches and made something like a tree top about 20 ft from the window. They planted grape vines and some other viney type stuff as well. Deer got most of it this summer so will have to replant.
I use a Canon 5D4, 100-400L with a 1.4 extender to get a total of 560mm. At 20 ft you get a fairly small DOF and some nice boken.
