Is Amazon cheating you also?

I have had Amazon Prime for many, many years. They promised me a $17 credit into my account, before Thanksgiving. Once again, over and over again, I NEVER get the credit. They are making a fortune lying about credits. Returned items, over-charges, charging sales tax on things that do NOT have sales tax in Massachusetts. I have done the chats, phone calls, and they make promises, promises, lies, lies. They NEVER give you the credit. I've been ordering things several times a week for years. But I think this $17 is the final straw. I bought a camera that uses Fuji instant film for $249, and it was JUNK, (it just wasted expensive film = white) and I was promised a credit last summer. They are Lying about giving credits. They promised, but it was a LIE. If you contact them again, chat or phone call, they promise again, but it NEVER happens. Don't ever buy the service contract, if you cancel the order, you will NEVER get the refund for the service contract. OK, so it was only $3-$5 but it adds up.
So, today, I picked out some "deals" for Christmas. The sales price is NOT in the cart, the FULL price was there. The "Last Minute Deal" is a lie. You have 15 minutes to check-out, and I tried to check-out immediately. NONE of the prices in my cart were the sales price. I deleted everything in my cart but some vitamins. The actual vitamins I wanted are much much cheaper at CVS.
PRIME 2-day shipping guaranteed is a lie as well. Their prices are going up and up.

I returned an item that was supplied by a third party. The third party only gave me a partial refund. Amazon, without me asking, gave me credit for the balance. Most of my orders arrive the next day a some take two days. There are a few third parties that take longer. This has been my experience.

Well I have not had a problem with items being credited when returned. In some cases I have gotten credit as soon as I dropped it off at the USP store. That was even before it was physically back at the Amazon depot. But every business has a horror story attached to them. No business big or small is perfect. I can understand your frustration, but how many returns did you have on the positive side.

I've had Amazon Prime for about 6 years now and never had an issue with returns, credits, or incorrect pricing at checkout. The 2-day shipping is always on time, and in some cases shows up a day earlier than expected. Sorry to hear about all the issues you are having, I would be upset as well.

I have better things to do with my life than chase after Amazon. I almost NEVER return something. I have NOT been keeping track over the years. It wastes over 1/2 an hour just doing a chat. I wasted almost a whole afternoon when I saw the $17 error doing chat after chat. In over 10 years, I think I have returned something twice. I like Amazon because it's so easy. I've been placing orders over 300 times a year. I send a lot of gifts all over the country, my brother's family in Oklahoma, another brother in Pennsylvania...

Sometimes I might buy stuff late at night and cancel the next morning. I've done that 4-5 times over the years but NOTHING was shipped yet. I have NOT abused them in any way. But to waste all afternoon for $17, and then never get the credit. And I was deceived about that camera many times, that they have a program for inferior products. They want to make promises and hope you just forget about it.

Have you ever bought the service contract? Like a fool, I select it all the time, so I have canceled the item, and gotten an email of the service contract refund, and NOT ONCE HAVE I EVER SEEN THAT CREDIT. Ok, so this happens about twice a year, the service contract company takes their ~$5 very, very fast.
Right now, I have 2 things past the 2 day PRIME shipping, it says "On the way" and I am upset about that $17. They blatantly lied about that camera last summer, and strung me along for months. They promised a full refund for the camera and wasted film many, many times, and I didn't know they were lying. How was I supposed to know? Finally, they said, "This case is closed."

I have been an Amazon Prime member for quite sometime now. I have not encountered any major problem with my transactions with them. I have cancelled (on time) and returned a few items without problems. I usually order photography / computer / office / books, health-related items and every now and then, household items. But, I would check first if said item(s) is available at a nearby store (e.g., Costco, Best Buy), and compare prices.

I like the convenience of ordering online (saves time and gas) and the quick delivery being a Prime member. Occasionally, I also order hard-to-find items for my sister and brother who reside in another state and have them directly delivered to them with similar conveniences without incurring extra costs. (They are not Prime Members.) I use an Amazon credit card through Chase which earns me points when making a purchase. When enough amount is earned, I use it to purchase future items.

I am sorry you're having problem with Amazon. Hope you find way to resolve it.

I paid for Amazon PRIME, but I have many things going all to my family around the country, and to myself, and they are taking 3-6 business days on PRIME orders. Ok, so it's a busy season, but FREE 2 - day shipping is guaranteed! Yes, many third party orders that are NOT PRIME can take a month, especially from China. I did order 2 glass oil sprayers from China, and one of them got smashed in shipment, and that Chinese company sent me a new one after I emailed a picture of the smashed one.
Amazon IS charging sales tax on items that are NOT taxable.

We get it for my youngest daughter's fire tablet because, well, she breaks stuff, and they have been very fast to replace the tablet without any issue. Other than that, I don't worry much about them.

Merry Christmas, Amazon, I'm not going to fight for that $17 any more. I'd rather give $17 to a homeless beggar. I often give the homeless money, often a $10. I don't care what they spend it on. After having breast cancer, and experiencing pain, I now know how bad a person can feel. I have suffered such pain, I wanted to find some heroin on the street, my husband said he would divorce me immediately, but my doctors wouldn't even give me Tylenol with Codeine, NOTHING. You have to go thru surgery with only Tylenol now, and painful cancer drugs are PAINFUL.

And NO, I am NOT a drug addict. I wouldn't even breath pot when I went to Kansas City Art Institute or anything else. I have never smoked cigarettes even. I saw a documentary on a Hospice in England where you get all the heroin you need for pain, once you are admitted. And some of their dying patients actually got better once they got rid of the pain, and they left the Hospice, and they were NOT addicted.

PayPal forced me to pay $10.61 once for something I did NOT authorize. They would NOT let me fight it. I confess, I buy a lot online. I'm afraid all these companies are getting bigger and bigger, and they do NOT care any more. Peapod by Stop and Shop is good. I have never had a problem with them. Once, a Peapod driver couldn't find a place to park to deliver my groceries, so I had to wait a few more hours for my groceries. I didn't complain or ask for a refund; I'm not unreasonable. But I think PayPal was wrong. Maybe they think $10.61 is not a lot of money. It's not. It's the princlple. Like I said, I'd rather give that to a homeless person, the $10.61.

Anyone can end up in the gutter, in this life, even a former CEO. What goes around, comes around.

I love the convenience of online shopping and use Amazon very frequently. I have had Prime for many, many years and have never had any of the problems you are complaining about. When I need to return something, the refund is prompt, often immediately after I have returned it at the UPS store. If I need to call for something, I find their customer support is excellent and fair. I recently ordered a mattress... one of the ones that comes rolled up in a very large box. It showed as delivered by UPS but it was not at my home. They replaced it immediately.
