Hi All, Here are some pictures of a Rufous, he has been running off the other hummers. He is Fearless,I can get 2 1/2 to 2 feet from him and take pictures. Enjoy Bear.

I love rufous hummingbirds. My favorite. The top guns of the hummingbird world and absolutely fearless. Usually they show up about mid July here but last yearmtheynwe very late and this year I have not seen them at all. Makes me sad so therefore greatly enjoyed your photos.

I had one of these hummingbirds a couple of years ago. He was a beautiful orange bird. He was a mean one and ran most of the other hummingbirds off. I will see if I can dig up a photo. I have been neglecting my hummingbirds this year though. Here are a couple of hummingbird shots from previous years.
