Looks like a natural forest regeneration project to me. Not pretty but efficient. It would be fun to have a picture from that spot as nature relentlessly moves from bare rock and dirt but back to the climax forest.

That is an interesting shot. You can see by the presence of un-melted snow, where the forest prefers to grow and will grow again.

I love this image. From a 2D perspective, all of “burnt” trees at the top appear to be laying down,
But zooming in to see the 3D perspective, they are actually standing up.
Hate the subject but love the view.
