Thanks Swampy (Corky? do you prefer Corky over Swampy?), Mike (you slithy ex-pat Ootah'n, you, ol' buddy, with your feather leis and your umbrella festooned adult beverages on the veran-daaaah and such), and Clint (hey there, Clint! thanks!), and Ken (who I likewise suspect is sorta swampy, down there in LA and all...) and Dean (whose appreciation of species --or was that genera? I forget-- is unparalleled), and Long (whose shadow looms..... well....... longer than the average?), and Out4 (Life, I cautiously suspect?)

Look, I'm not one for reading --much less writing-- individual thankewes. But still, once or twice a year I can manage
without getting (too) weird. If that's ok with the two (or three) who'll read this --and assent--, that is.

Hi, Cany and either name is fine with me. My first name is Elbert and is hardly ever used except when I sign something official. My nephew at a very young age started calling me Corky and it seemed to stick and also I do really love the swamps and live along the Cypress lined banks of the Chickahominy River which is a tributary of the James River that flows into the lower Chesapeake Bay, so certainly either Swampy or Corky is fine with me. I am always amazed at the beauty and skill reflected in your images and although I don't always comment on them because of time restraints I have yet to see one that I didn't like, and really love viewing your images. Take care! Swampy or Corky

Elbert, eh? A fine and noble appellation (which in its original --in the Medieval Welsh-- translates, I believe, as "the beloved of toothy swamp critters").

Now knowing you have as much love for your cypress-lined riverine swamps as I do of my heathen and soul-less rocks, it may be best if henceforth I call you Corky. (Though the time may come when I might call you 'Sworky,' or maybe 'Elcork' --YES! That's more the ticket! El Cork!!!--, though only in the most respectful of ways. And doing so may save time and bandwidth, too.) You take care as well.

Oh, that's a nice one. I always love your attention to foreground; it makes such a difference in landscape photos. It inspires me to do better in that department.

Thanks, Feral. I don't want to show somebody a view of some landscape, I want them to be the first-hand viewer of that landscape. (Focus stacking and difficult to describe selective blends is/are sometimes worth the effort.)
