A look at a few birds that aren't seen often in the wetlands. #1 is a merlin falcon that is usually very high up and difficult to capture.
#2 is a Western Swamp Hen that at a glance can be mistaken for a Purple Gallinule #3 is a Purple Gallinule that is not very common but I wanted to show the difference. #4 is a Least Bittern #5 are Whistling Ducks #6 is an American Bittern #7 is a crested CaraCara that we just got last week at Viera Wetlands #8 Belted Kingfisher

Outstanding set, Vic! You guys have really put your time down there to good use. I really like the least bittern catch in mid-hop.

Vic, fantastic set and the DDLs are all great. IDing each photo is a big aid to those who do not know wat bird they are looking at. This set gets a HIGH FIVE .

Magnificent series, these are all great subjects...especially like the Merlin & Kingfisher, they are never easy to get in front of a lens!!
