Let me put comment in here for you.
I have a D200 and this one you are offering is a steal ! and a great buy for a great camera.
Yea it is a 10 megi pixie but this is one of the best DSLRs for the price you can get.
The color and auto focus on mine is great.
No video feature on this model but the D200 shoots beautiful pictures.
I have shot several thousand shots of fast moving planes at airshows with my D200.
Never has let me down.
For anyone looking to get into or a DSLR this is damn good buy.
Other D200 owners I believe will agree too.

I agree, I still have this wonderful semi-pro camera and use it along side with my Df!

What lens would be best all round lens to start with for the 200

Depends on what you want to shoot.

Personally, I think the old 17-55 2.8DX was the best DX zoom Nikon ever made.
Constant 2.8 maximum aperture, built like a tank, sharp, but pretty expensive.
A pro lens back when Nikon didn't make a full-frame body.
The 18-55's are all pretty decent performers for the price.
Now, I'd lean toward a Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8.
Unlike the Nikon 17-55, it has stabilization.
Some like the 18-200 or 18-300 for all-around use.
For me, they are a bit slow and not quite as sharp as some others but really handy if you don't want to change lenses. I had an 18-200 for sale, but it's gone.

Then there are prime lenses, as in a single focal length.
Faster, lighter, smaller and possibly less expensive than a zoom.
For crop sensor primes, I personally like having the 23mm to walk around with on my Fuji.
It's like about a 35mm equivalent view in full-frame speak.
It's my normal.

Can't promise anything, but giving info to a friend for her daughter. I had a couple of these, and they were great in their time, and still very useable.
